Bowling Green begins the season with a road trip to South Bend, Indiana to take on the nationally-ranked Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
"Notre Dame was a top ten team in the country last year; you couldn't ask for a better team to start with. You just have to go after a team like Notre Dame. It's going to be early for them, early for us. I am really looking forward to that match," said Van De Walle.
Fresh Falcons
Bowling Green State University volleyball head coach Denise Van De Walle has added three new players to the 2006 roster. Milica Askic (Belgrade, Serbia), Corey Domek (Naperville, Illinois) and Shari Luther (Colgate, Wisconsin) will join the Falcons for the 2006 season.

Who's On The Left Side?
Replacing a pair of graduated left-side hitters (Emily Manser and Ashlei Nofzinger) and their 540 kills will be a big key to the Falcons success in 2006. The BGSU coaching staff will have plenty of options on the left-side however, with four left-side hitters on the roster. Juniors Maggie Karges and Madeline Means bring some experience to the table with over 300 career kills between the two. True freshmen Milica Askic and Corey Domek will also look to shoulder some of the load.
MAC Preseason Poll Released
The Bowling Green State University volleyball team was picked to finish third in the East Divisin according to the Mid-American Conference preseason coaches poll (Aug. 17). Defending MAC Champion Ohio was once again picked to win the East, while Ball State was slated to capture the West.
