Former Falcon Pitcher Named Detroit Tigers Minor League Pitcher of the Year

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Burke Badenhop has become the next Falcon baseball standout to excel at the next level as he was named the Detroit Tigers Minor League Pitcher of the Year.
The Perrysburg, Ohio native played for the West Michigan Whitecaps, a single-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers for the 2006 season. He racked up a 14-3 record with a 2.84 ERA. Badenhop posted 124 strikeouts compared to just 31 walks on the year.
A seven-inning, eight-strikeout performance with no runs allowed against Peoria on July 25th was one of Badenhop's most impressive starts. The right-hander hurler compiled three complete game win as well.
