The Corey and Corrie Show
The Falcons jumped out to a 2-0 lead against Cleveland State earlier this season, hitting .378 during the first two games. Freshman Corey Domek and Junior Corrie Mills contributed 22 kills while hitting a combined .667 pace in the first two frames. The Vikings stole game three, 30-28, but the Falcons responded by pounding CSU with a 30-17 game four match-sealer.
Offensive Juggernaut
Falcon fans can find BGSU near the top of the MAC rankings in every offensive category. The Brown and Orange are tied for the highest hitting percentage (.241) in the conference. Bowling Green's 15.81 kills and 14.50 assists per game averages slot them second and third in the league, respectively.
Offensive Juggernaut (Cont.)
One of the biggest concerns for the Falcons entering 2006 was: who is going to replace graduated seniors Emily Manser and Ashlei Nofzinger on the left side? Freshman Corey Domek has answered that question promptly, leading the Mid-American Conference with a .368 hitting percentage. Senior Chrissy Gothke is the focal point of the Falcon attack, pacing the conference with 12.50 assists per game.
Stingy Defense
The Falcons are excelling defensively as well in their first five matches of the `06 campaign. Junior Stephanie Swiger's 1.56 blocks per game are the most in the MAC, aiding BGSU to the second most team blocks in the conference. Sophomore Chelsey Meek cracks the top ten in digs with 4.50 a game.
