AKRON, Ohio (AP) -Carin Horne scored 12 of her 15 points in the first half to help No. 24 Bowling Green quickly pull away in a 61-32 win over Akron on Wednesday night.
Horne also grabbed six rebounds for the Falcons (11-2, 1-0 Mid-American). Ali Mann had 10 points and six rebounds.
Bowling Green shot only 37 percent from the floor but held the Zips (7-6, 0-1) to 30 percent shooting, including 1-for-8 from 3-point range.
Niki McCoy scored nine points for Akron.
Horne hit three quick jumpers and two 3s, helping the Falcons take an 18-10 lead with 9:36 left in the first half. Mann was perfect in four free-throw attempts in the half, the last two coming after one of Liz Honegger's four steals.
