Falcons Continue Play at Ball State Invite

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Bowling Green State University tennis team continued play at the Ball State Fall Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 20). The Falcons went 4-6 in singles matches and 0-3 in doubles play on the second day of the three-day, three-team tournament.

In singles flight A, BGSU's competitors were sophomores Katia Babina and Samantha Kintzel. Babina split her two Saturday matches, with a convincing 6-1, 6-2 win in her second match of the day. Babina faced a pair of opponents from host Ball State, while Kintzel matched up against two Western Michigan competitors.
Senior Andrea Volle and juniors Libby Harrison and Stefanie Menoff are competing in singles flight B this weekend. All three players split their matches on Saturday. Menoff lost a narrow match to open the day, by identical 7-5 scores, then rebounded to sweep her second contest, losing a total of just one game in the process.
Harrison dropped only three total games in her win, while Volle lost just four games in her victory. All three players in flight B defeated opponents from BSU.
The Falcons went a combined 0-3 on the second day of doubles play.
The tournament concludes on Sunday (Oct. 21), which also will signal the end of the Falcons' fall season.
