Yee, a native of Berea, Ohio (Berea HS), scored both of the Falcons' goals in a pair of wins at Cochrane Field over the weekend. She recorded the second 'Golden Goal' of her career on Friday (Oct. 26), giving the Brown and Orange a 1-0, double-overtime win over Ohio University.
Then, on Sunday (Oct. 28), Yee scored in the 62nd minute for what proved to be the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over the University of Akron.
For Yee, it was the second time in her career that she scored the game-winning goal in both BGSU matches in a weekend. She scored all three of the Falcons' goals in wins over Kent State and Buffalo last season (Oct. 13-15, 2006), earning MAC P-O-W honors on that occasion as well.
Yee, the 2005 MAC Freshman of the Year, is tied for second place on the team with nine points this fall. She has two goals and a team-leading five assists. In MAC matches only, Yee leads the Falcons with eight points in 10 games.
Yee now has 11 career goals, the most among active Falcons and the eighth-highest total in school history. Ten of her 11 career goals have come against MAC opposition.
Yee has a career total of six game-winning goals, ranking her fourth in BGSU history. She has moved into the BGSU top-10 in career scoring, with 31 points as a Falcon.
Yee is one of just two Falcons in history with more than one 'Golden Goal' in her career. Yee's total of two such goals trails only Samantha Meister (three) on that list.
The Falcons of head coach Andy Richards, 8-9-1 overall and 5-5-0 in MAC action, are riding a three-game winning streak entering the regular season's final game. BGSU will make the short trip north for a Thursday (Nov. 1) game against the University of Toledo, which will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Scott Park Field.
The win over Akron clinched a spot in the MAC Tournament for the Falcons, who will play a quarterfinal-round game on Sunday, Nov. 4. The top-four teams in the final standings will host quarterfinal matches on that date. To host a quarterfinal game, BGSU, currently tied for fifth place in the standings, needs to defeat UT and have either Eastern Michigan or Northern Illinois lose on Thursday.
