BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University Falcons will open the conference season on the road as they travel to Ypsilanti, Mich. to challenge defending Mid-American Conference tournament champions Eastern Michigan on Friday (Nov. 2) afternoon. The duel meet is scheduled to start at 5:00 pm. A day later, the team will proceed to Muncie, Indiana for a 1:00 pm contest against Ball State.
The Eagles sport a 2-0 record, having defeated both Wisconsin-Milwaukee (134-97) and Wayne State (145-87). Likewise, Ball State notched their first win of the season as they defeated Eastern Illinois (143-85).
"Eastern Michigan is the defending MAC champions and Ball State always swims well at home," said head coach Keri Buff. "We have two big challenges this weekend and it will be good to see how this team responds."
Tri-Captains, seniors Michael Carriaga and Kim Albin, and junior Brittany Collins will lead the Falcons as they return 14 members of the team that placed sixth at the MAC Championships last season.
After placing first in 9-of-10 races as part of the Tom Stubb Relays against Akron and Youngstown State, the Orange and Brown will look to build on their success.
"We have been working hard in practice," said Buff. "We have momentum that has been building since the relays last weekend, so we will be ready to go."
Upon their return home, the Falcons will prepare to host a pair of MAC teams, Ohio University on Nov. 9 and Miami University the following day.
