Falcons Record Six Top Ten Finishes at the Close of Day Three

YPSILANTI, Mich. - Sami Jordan was the top Bowling Green finisher as her new Personal Record of 57.46 in the 100-back landed her in fourth place overall. The sophomore finished less than three-tenths of a second out of medal contention. Four additional Falcons swam to top ten times in solo events, while the 400-medley relay squad (3:55.00) took seventh overall.
Sophomore Alisha Yee (57.67) finished two spots behind Jordan in the 100-back in sixth. Senior Caroline Keating (1:55.36) and junior Michael Carriaga (57.53) were also sixth in the 200-free and 100-fly, respectively. Freshman Chelsea Lopus (57.97) took eighth overall in the 100-fly.
Kimberly Albin finished the day with an eleventh place time of 4:33.18 as the lone Orange and Brown swimmer in the 400-IM.
With three days of competition under their belts, the Falcons remain in sixth place with 247 total points. Eastern Michigan (421), Ohio (413) and Miami (380.5) have taken a commanding lead of the tournament with as their closest competitor, Toledo (270.5) sits 110 points out of medal standing. Akron (262), BGSU, Ball State (206) and Buffalo (139) round out the field of eight. One day remains in the MAC Championships.
Awards will be distributed at approximately 9:15 p.m. on the night of Saturday, February 17.
