The Bowling Green State University women's golf team saved their best for last, as they shot a 309 on the final day of competition to finish 16th at the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Arizona. Overall the Falcons shot 937 (312-316-309), finishing behind other MAC schools Toledo (892, 3rd), Western Michigan (908, T-6th) and Eastern Michigan (915, 8th), but ahead of Ohio (947, 17th) and Ball State (961, 18th).
Junior Jessica McCann was the top Falcon finisher, carding back-to-back 76's, combined with an 81 on day one to finish tied for 49th with a 233. She also finished 20th in the tournament with six birdies.
Kari Liggett fired a spring-best 73 to open the tournament and closed with a 78, combined with an 83 on day two to finish tied for 52nd (234).
Also competing for the Orange and Brown were Carley Hrusovsky (238, T-69th), Lindsey Jonkhoff (239, T-71st), Amanda Bader (245, T-86th) and Megan Gormley (268, 106th).
Up next for the Falcons will be the Illini Spring Classic, set for April 6-7.
