Roflow and Bunko Named to Academic All-MAC List

It was announced early this evening that Bowling Green's Jamie Roflow and Andi Bunko were named to the Academic All-MAC squad.
The 22-member team was voted on by the league's Faculty Athletic Representatives from among a list of student-athletes who have excelled in athletic and academics. To qualify, a students-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
Roflow earns the honor for the fifth time in as many tries in her career. She was the 5,000-meter MAC Champion this indoor season. The junior accounting major maintains a 3.79 GPA. Roflow has been the driving force for the Falcons distance corps for the entirety of her running career at Bowling Green. She went undefeated this season in all but one race (3,000-meters at MAC Championships) She won the 5,000 in the first meet (17:29.49), the mile in the second meet (5:01.39). She also won the 3,000 at the CMU meet 9:58.48. She was the All-Ohio Champion in the mile (5:00.18) as well as a member of the All-Ohio Champion Distance Medley Relay, which ran the fastest DMR time since 2001.
Although she's been a top competitor during the outdoor season, Bunko competed in her first indoor season this year. The health science major currently maintains a 3.93 GPA. She was named to the Academic All-MAC squad outdoors in both seasons she has been eligible for the award. She has thrown personal records of 36-07.00 in the weight throw and 32-09.00 in the shot put. She was also named the female junior scholar athlete of the year last spring.
