BGSU Begins Spring Schedule this Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team begins its spring schedule this weekend. The Falcons of head coach Andy Richards will play eight total matches this spring, including six in Northwest Ohio.
The action begins this weekend, with the Falcons heading to the Rock 'N' Roll City for a pair of Saturday matches before returning to Bowling Green for a Sunday contest. On Saturday (March 31), BGSU will face Robert Morris along with host Cleveland State at CSU's tournament. Then, on Sunday (April 1), the Brown and Orange will meet the Dixie Saints, a club team from Canada, with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in Bowling Green.
The Falcons will host the BGSU Spring Tournament on Saturday, April 7, with BG's opponents including Oakland and Grand Valley State. The spring schedule concludes the following weekend. BG will take part in the Toledo Spring Tournament at Pacesetter Park on Saturday, April 14. On that date, the Falcons will meet both Michigan and Eastern Michigan.
Finally, on Sunday, April 15, worlds will collide as the present Falcons face BGSU greats from the program's first decade in the team's annual Alumnae Match.
Richards and the 2006 Falcons, with 12 newcomers on the 24-woman roster, posted an overall record of 10-10-0. BGSU went 7-4-0 in Mid-American Conference regular-season action to tie for third place in the league.
The 2007 schedule begins on August 31, with a game at West Virginia.
