Kyle Page, a freshman on the Bowling Green State University hockey team, was named to the CCHA Honorable Mention All-Rookie Team on Tuesday morning (Mar. 6) announced by the conference office. The last time a Falcon earned all-rookie honors was in 2004-05 when Michael Hodgson was named to the CCHA All-Rookie Team and Jonathan Matsumoto earned honorable mention that same year.
Page, a native of Wixom, Michigan played in 37 of 38 games this season, with his only non-dress coming on Jan. 19 at Northern Michigan because of an injury.
On the year the freshman finished with five points (0g, 5a), while finishing fourth on the team with a minus-7 rating, among players that play at least 20 games.
He recorded his first collegiate point with an assist versus Providence (Oct. 20) in a 4-2 road win. He also recorded points versus Miami (Oct. 27), Minnesota-Duluth (Dec. 30), Western Michigan (Jan. 5) and Michigan State (Feb. 23). Overall the Falcons were 3-2-0 when the freshman recorded a point.
He also finished with an even or better plus-minus rating in 24 of his 37 games played, and had a plus-2 or better in four games, while also registering 17 penalties for 34 penalty minutes.
