BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University Assistant Vice President/Director of Athletics Greg Christopher has announced that women's basketball coach and National Coach of the Year finalist Curt Miller will receive a restructured six-year contract (thru 2013) that will pay him a base salary of $160,124, the highest of any Falcon coach.
"This move, plus other new resources devoted to the program, is meant to show our commitment to women's basketball at BGSU," said Christopher. "Curt and his staff have done a remarkable job and we intend to maintain the program at the elite status in the MAC."
Miller has built a national power in his six years on campus. He has seen the Falcons post a 124-60 record and guided them to a #15 national ranking this past season after earning the school's first-ever trip to the NCAA 'Sweet 16.' The Falcons have won the last three MAC regular season and tournament championships while posting a 53-4 record against league foes since the start of the 2004-05 season. BGSU has been nationally ranked each of the last two seasons and has played in the NCAA Tournament in each of the last three years.
"I am grateful to the administration for their commitment and support of the our women's basketball program," said Miller, who was named MAC Coach of the Year in 2005, 2006 and 2007. "I have truly enjoyed the remarkable ride with an incredible group of young women. They have energized our whole community while being great ambassadors of the university on and off the court."
