Women's Soccer Falcons Conclude Spring Schedule This Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - The Bowling Green State University women's soccer team will wrap up the spring schedule this weekend with a pair of events. The Falcons of head coach Andy Richards will make the short trip north to Toledo for the Border Challenge Showcase on Saturday (April 14), then will host the team's annual Alumnae Match at Cochrane Field on Sunday (April 15).
The Border Challenge Showcase will take place at Pacesetter Park in Sylvania, a sports turf facility featuring 29 soccer fields, along with baseball diamonds, lacrosse fields and an indoor fieldhouse.
A total of 14 NCAA Division I schools from the states of Michigan and Ohio will play matches in Saturday's Showcase. The Falcons, 3-0-2 in spring matches to date, are scheduled to face Michigan at 11:15 a.m. and Eastern Michigan at 1:45 p.m. Other participating institutions include Akron, Cleveland State, Central Michigan, Detroit, Kent State, Michigan State, Oakland, Toledo, Western Michigan, Wright State and Xavier.

Sunday's Alumnae Match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Cochrane Field. Weather permitting, the current crop of Falcons will play the alumnae squad in a pair of 45-minute halves.
Richards and the 2006 edition of the Falcons, with 12 newcomers on the 24-woman roster, posted an overall record of 10-10-0 and tied for third place in the MAC with a 7-4-0 conference mark. The 2007 schedule begins on August 31, with a match at West Virginia.
