Head coach Denise Van De Walle and the BGSU volleyball team, has announced the 2007 schedule this afternoon (Mon., July 2). The Falcons will play host to 13 home events including three contests in the BGSU Invitational on Sept. 14-15.
"I think we have a great schedule," said head coach Denise Van De Walle. "We open up with Illinois, Dayton, and IPFW-three teams that are used to winning. That will test us right away. Then wetravel to the west coastand New Mexico. That will allow us to play some teams that we normally wouldn't see. The early tournaments will help us get ready for the conference."
BGSU will open the season with four straight tournaments, with their home opener squeezed in there as well. The Falcons open the season at the Dayton Invitation (Aug. 24-25) in a field that will include Illinois, Dayton and IPFW.
Van De Walle and the Falcons then host Oakland on Aug. 28 in their home opener inside Anderson Arena at 7:05 p.m.
Following the contest with the Grizzlies, BGSU will travel to Fullerton, Calif., for the Cal State Fullerton Invitational (Aug. 31-Sept. 1). That field will include Call State Fullerton, Portland State and Stony Brook.
Just a week later the Falcons head to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the New Mexico Invitational (Sept. 7-8), which includes Gonzaga, New Mexico and Northern Colorado.
The final tournament tune-up for the MAC season will take place on Sept. 14-15 at the 2007 Falcon Invitational in Bowling Green, Ohio. BGSU will host DePaul, Duquesne and Valparaiso.
