The National Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Teams were announced today (July 9) with juniors Carley Hrusovsky and Lindsey Jonkhoff earning spots on the prestigious team. The criteria for selection to the squad includes a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and must compete in at least 50% of the school's rounds that season.
Hrusovsky, a native of North Canton, Ohio, maintains a 3.90 GPA, while majoring in sports management. This past season she led the team with an 81.90 stroke average. Her top performances came at the YSU/Taco Bell Invitational (78-80, 6th) and the EKU Colonel Classic (79-81-82, 5th). She broke 80 fives times throughout the year.
Jonkhoff, a native of Traverse City, Mich., also has a 3.90 cumulative GPA, while majoring in psychology. She finished the season with an 83.23 stroke average through 22 rounds. She opened the season with scores of 79-77 to finish 10th at the Laker Fall Classic and just a week later she went 77-79 to finish fifth at the YSU/Taco Bell Invitational.
In other news the NGCA also announce their top-25 Team GPA's in women's golf, with Bowling Green finishing 11th with a 3.637 team GPA. All seven members of the golf team maintain at least a 3.24 GPA. Bowling Green was the top Mid-American Conference team with Kent State finishing in a tie for 25th (3.528) as a close second.
