Women's Swim Team Splashes into 2008-09 Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green's swimming and diving team began their season with a big splash in the Tom Stubbs Relay, Friday, October 17, 2008.
BGSU played host to the event, swimming against the University of Akron, Oakland University and Youngstown State University.
The Falcons took a first place finish in five of the nine relays, setting a meet record of 1:38.90 in the 200 yard freestyle relay; beating their own record of 1:39.68 set last year.
The Falcons were victorious in the 200 yard medley relay, with a first place finish time of 1:50.04, and a third place finish of 1:50.66. They also took a first and third finish in the 300 yard butterfly relay with a first place finish time of 1:54.45 and a third place finish time of 2:59.14
The Falcons also took first place in the 400 yard medley relay with a time of 3:57.70 as well as the 400 yard medley relay swimming in at. 4:08.52.
BGSU remained in the top three in the rest of the events taking second in the 400 yard freestyle relay, 3:37.18; the 1500 yard freestyle relay, 15:29.51; and the 300 yard breaststroke relay, 3:24.28; and finishing third in the 300 yard backstroke relay, 2:58.82.
The BGSU Swimming and Diving team's next meet will be at home against Eastern Michigan at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2008, inside Cooper Pool.
