BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The BGSU Falcons prep for another busy weekend as they hit the road traveling to the Ohio University Aquatic Center to face off against the Bobcats (0-2) on Friday, Nov. 7 followed by a meet against the Miami University Redhawks (4-1) on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Nixon Natatorium.
The Bobcats come into the season as the 2008 MAC swimming and diving champions and were chosen to win the conference again in the MAC preseason poll. So far this season they are 0-2, losing meets to Akron (163-136) and Buffalo (162.5-137.5). At the Washington State Invitational earlier this month the Bobcats placed fourth out of six teams. OU has beaten BGSU the last two years. Last year the Falcons met the Bobcats at Cooper Pool but were defeated 130-113.
Going into Saturday's meet, the Redhawks have started their season with a 4-1 record. The MAC preseason poll selected Miami to finish second in the conference; BGSU was chosen to tie for fifth with the University at Buffalo. The Redhawks have recorded wins against Xavier (180-80), Buffalo (170-130) and Akron (189-111). In a tri-meet against Purdue and Louisville earlier this season, the Redhawks topped Purdue but fell to nationally ranked Louisville. At their previous meet last year, the Redhawks defeated the Falcons (177-122) at Cooper Pool.
In their first two MAC meets the Falcons have a split record (1-1), losing to Eastern Michigan (173-125) and topping Ball State (160-140).
