Briggs and Iovinelli Named to All-MAC Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Senior Diyral Briggs and junior Nick Iovinelli have been named to the Mid-American Conference All-MAC team, announced by the league office this morning (Dec. 3). Briggs was named to the MAC's first team, while Iovinelli garnered third-team honors.
Briggs earns All-MAC honors for a second consecutive season after being named to the first-team in 2007 as well. This season he recorded 60 tackles, while he led the conference with 9.5 sacks and was second in the league with 13.5 tackles for loss. The native of Mt. Healthy, Ohio, also had one forced fumble, a fumble recovery and 10 quarterback hurries.
Iovinelli earns the award for the first time in his career, while averaging 40.4 yards a punt. He had seven punts of 50 yards or more, including a 79-yard kick versus Pittsburgh, the third longest punt in school history. He added 12 punts inside the opponents 20 yard line and helped the punt coverage team rank fourth in the MAC in net punting (35.8).
