BGSU and MSU will tip-off in the Breslin Center - the home of their epic back-to- back NCAA Tournament wins just one season ago ... game time is set for 2:00 p.m.

The 2007-08 Falcons in One Minute or Less
The 2007-08 Bowling Green State University Falcons finished the regular season with their fifth consecutive 20-plus win season recording a 24-6 overall mark ... after wining their first seven games, including two at the Cornell Classic (Nov. 30 - Dec. 1, Ithaca, N.Y.) to become the tournament champions, the Falcons took nationally ranked Notre Dame (Dec. 5) to overtime before falling for the first time ... at the time, BGSU was the first opponent to come within single digits of the Fighting Irish (86-84 OT) ... head coach Curt Miller's squad would win five of their next seven games and bring the non-conference season to an end with an 11-3 mark ... the Orange and Brown would also finish as the runner's up at the Iowa State Cyclone Shootout (Dec. 28-30, Ames, Iowa) ... BG opened its conference season with four wins in the East division before closing January with its first trio of MAC losses since the 2004-05 season ... getting themselves back on track, BGSU concluded the MAC season with nine straight victories and their fourth regular season championship crown becoming the first MAC women's basketball team to reach four interrupted titles in as many years ... through those final nine games, the Falcons also saw individual milestones reached as senior Kate Achter became the BGSU career record holder for free throws made while Miller surpassed the 144 overall win tally to become the career win coaching record holder at BGSU ... Achter and fellow senior Whitney Taylor also set a new Mid-American Conference record winning 107 games in four years to become the winningest male or female class in MAC history ... additionally, with their regular season championship, Bowling Green assured themselves a chance to move into the post season with at least a bid into the Women's Invitational Tournament ... after bowing out of the MAC Tournament in the semi's, BGSU continues their postseason play drawing Michigan State at the Breslin Center after beating Dayton in the first round of the WNIT.
How They Got Here
Bowling Green: The MAC Regular Season Champions earned an automatic berth as a result of that championship ... BGSU fell in the semifinal round of the MAC Tournament ... BGSU advanced to the second round after beating Dayton on the Falcons' home court on March 20 ... Kate Achter broke the single season and career assist records that night as she posted her fourth points/assists double-double of the season (15p-10a) ... Lauren Prochaska also broke the freshman scoring record and has now accumulated 478 points in the Orange and Brown ... Lindsey Goldsberry hit three ket three point field goals at various times of the game to help the Falcons to their first ever WNIT win.
Michigan State: The Spartans, who are making their fourth appearance in the WNIT, enter the tournament with a 19-13 overall record ... Michigan State is 7-3 all-time in its three previous appearances, including a run to the semifinals in 2002 ... the Spartans went 2-1 and reached the quarterfinals in both 1999 and 2000.
Miller/Merchant - Familiar Foes
Michigan State head coach Suzie Merchant is no stranger to Curt Miller and the BGSU Falcons ... before making the move to the Big Ten, Merchant spent nine seasons with the Eastern Michigan Eagles ... in the Miller/Merchant battle, Miller reigns supreme with a 6-5 all-time record ... the two have spent time on opposing sidelines four times in the postseason ... in their first two meetings in the MAC Tournament, EMU ended the Falcons' season winning once in the opening round (2003, 66-54) and once in the following season's coupe de gras - the championship game (2004; 65-56) ... since then, BGSU beat Merchant's Eagles in the 2005 and 2007 postseason ... the last time Miller and Merchant squared off, BGSU took the MAC semifinal, 71-57 ... in March the pair each have two wins over the other.

Miller, the winningest coach to grace the Falcons' wbb program ... boasts an almost 70% (.691) win percentage ... former BG head coach Fran Voll still holds the top honor winning .706 percent of his games with BGSU ... after seven complete season, Voll was 144-60 ... The MAC in the WNIT
The Mid-American Conference has posted a 13-17 overall record in the postseason WNIT Tournament ... since 1998, the MAC is 3-8 at home sites and 4-6 on the road during the WNIT ... in previous seasons, the tournament was held in Amarillo, Texas ... Toledo has made a conference high five appearances ... Bowling Green is only the fourth team to play in the postseason tournament more than once ... prior to BGSU's win over Dayton, no MAC team had won a WNIT match-up since 2004 when Miami won one game and Western Michigan won two.

In the 20 years in which the WNIT has sponsored a postseason tournament, BGSU has represented the MAC in just one previous season ... on that occasion in 1998, Butler downed BGSU 95-90 in front of a home crowd in Anderson Arena ... to date, BGSU is 1-1 in WNIT play since beating Dayton on Thursday, March 20 by a socre of 64-52.

In his tenure with the Orange and Brown, Curt Miller has led the Falcons to the postseason in what is now the fourth consecutive season ... under his direction, BGSU is 2-3 in the NCAA tournament; the 2008 WNIT will mark Miller and Co.'s first appearance in the postseason tournament ... win the win over Dayton, Miller and the Falcons are 1-0 in the WNIT ... Miller though is no stranger to the tournament as the 1999-2000 Colorado State University Rams reached the semifinals before losing 78-60 at the hands of eventual champion, University of Wisconsin ... at the time, Miller was the associate head coach of the Mountain West affiliate ... the previous season, he helped to guide the Rams to the preseason WNIT title.
Achter Moves Closer to All-America Status; Named Regional Finalist
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), in cooperation with State Farm, announced the 52 regional finalists for the 2008 State Farm Coaches' All-America Basketball Team for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I ... Bowling Green State University senior tri-captain Kate Achter is one of four Mid-American Conference players to earn placement on the Region 4 Finalist list ... Achter, the reigning MAC Player of the Year, has tallied 681 assists as a Falcon and recently set the program's career and single season records ... both of which were set before she was born mor ethan 20 years ago ... Achter will graduate a top the assist, free throws made and free throws taken charts ... she is just the second Falcon to earn Regional recognition in a decade ... last season Ali Mann garnered the award also.
Golden Child of the Family Feud
Though she comes from a family of four collegiate basketball players, junior Lindsey Goldsberry had a rare opportunity on Thursday (Mar. 20) night ... though Goldsberry did not test her sibling rivalry, she did in fact face her high school basketball coach - who just so happens to be her father and the Director of Basketball Operations at the University of Dayton ... Frank Goldsberry, Lindsey's father, has worked with the Flyers for five seasons in a non-coaching capacity ... each of the younger Goldsberry's three field goals came from three point range and at key moments for the Orange and Brown ... the senior Goldsberry was found sitting in the stands (among the BGSU parents, family and friends) wearing neutral colors.
I'rish for a Game in March
Under head coach Curt Miller, Bowling Green is 20-8 in the month of March ... before the lucky green day of March 17, they are 17-5 ... after that, their pot of gold stops at a 3-3 record ... all six of those games have taken place in the past three seasons ... historically, BGSU is 53-36 in March ... 50 of those wins have been sealed before March 17.
