Last Time Out
The Bowling Green State University women's golf team carded a 36-hole score of 656 (327-329) to finish eighth at the Cardinal Classic, hosted by Ball State University. The host Cardinals won the event with a score of 620, followed by Longwood (624), Grand Valley State (626), Ferris State (628) and Indianapolis (635) to round out the top five.
Individually, two Falcons had impressive tournaments, both placing in the top-20 among the 68-person field. Senior Carley Hrusovsky fell one shot shy of finishing in the top ten, carding a 156 (80-76) to finish in a tie for 11th. Her 76 on day two was tied for the fourth-lowest round of the day. Fellow classmate Jessica McCann fired back-to-back 80's for a 160 to place her in a tie for 20th.
Also competing for the Orange and Brown were Lauren Glew (172, T-50th), Lindsey Jonkhoff (173, T-52nd), Amanda Bader (173, T-52nd) and Marisa Glew (171, 49th) Marisa Glew competed as an individual, thus, not allowing her scores to count for the team.
McCann Impressive In Her Final Year
Senior Jessica McCann is saving her best for last, averaging 79.52 strokes through 21 rounds this season. In fact, her current season average is the second-lowest ever by a Falcon, trailing only Jenny Schnipke's 78.54 stroke average in the 2003-04 season.
Falcons Just as Impressive
The 2002-03 team average of 324.05, the current BGSU lowest team average in school history, is in jeopardy of being broken by this year's squad. Through 21 rounds, the 2007-08 Falcons have a 323.7 stroke average, with just two tournaments remaining.
Up Next
Following the Falcon Invitational the BGSU women's golf team will be competing in the 2008 MAC Championships, hosted by Northern Illinois.
