Strong Showing For Falcons at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - Complete Drake Relay Results
Competing against the nations best all weekend, the Bowling Green State University track team, had several standout performances at the Drake Relays, while others were outstanding at the Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Mich.
At the Drake Relays the throwers stood out, with Whitney Hartman finishing 13th in the hammer throw with a mark of 174-00. Her teammate Lauren Bryant finished 17th in the same event with a throw of 157-07.
Fellow thrower TaKarra Dunning finished 17th in the shot put with a mark of 44-06.75.
Kara Butler ran the 8,000-meter road race at the Drake Relays and finished in 30:26 ranking her 20th all time for collegiate runners in that race and earning her third among the college runners and seventh overall female in the race.
The BGSU 4x1600 meter relay team of Carly Bates, Autumn Dettmann, Barbara Powers and Lyndi Springer finished 16th with a time of 21:08.28.
At the Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Michigan Hillary Hewit finished 11th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.85.
The 4x100 relay team of Brittani McNeal, Sarah Hooten, Amanda Sefcik and Shantell Lewis finished second with a time of 45.23.
Up next for the Falcons is a trip to Toledo for a meet on May 2.
