My internship at E! is really going well as I continue to get more involved. This past week I've been able to work on large research projects in order to help the department organize for upcoming shows. Everyday I'm meeting new people at E! and learning more about the ins-and-outs of the entertainment industry. Today (Wed., July 2) we are having a BG lunch-in with all the BG alumni who currently work at E!. This should be a good opportunity to continue to network and get to know more BG alumni here in Los Angeles.
Over this past weekend I was able to tour some of the California coast. After a long hike into the Angels National Forest near Los Angeles, my friends and I stumbled onto a beautiful waterfall. We then drove south to Hermosa Beach and checked out the USA Beach Tennis tournament going on there. After some fun in Hermosa, we traveled north up the Pacific Coastal Highway to the Santa Monica Pier, Zuma Beach, and then stopped in Malibu to camp along the beautiful coastline. We set up tent right on the sand of the ocean and watched the sun set over the cliffy mountains and sand dunes in the distance. The scenery in Malibu was remarkable and we watched surfers, kite surfers, and wind surfers ride the giant waves.
Interning at E! has already proven to be a great stepping stone for my future career. Through contacts I've made at E! and back in Bowling Green, I have been able to secure my third and final internship for next fall. I will be relocating to New York City to intern with Nickelodeon in their Flash Animation department. This summer is only half way over and so much has already happened. I can barely imagine what the rest of the summer will bring!
More coming soon...
GO FALCONS!
