PITTSBURGH, Pa. -
Bowling Green's poise played a major role in overcoming a 14-0 deficit against #25 Pittsburgh. Early in the fourth quarter, junior Tyler Sheehan ran 11 yards for a touchdown on a quarterback draw to secure the 27-17 upset victory for the Falcons and a Pontiac Game Changing Performance nomination.
Now it is up to BGSU fans to determine if the Falcons will earn a Pontiac Game Changing Performance for week one of the 2008 NCAA® Football Season.
Bowling Green fans can go to www.pontiac.com/ncaa , where they can view video clips of the four finalists and vote for the Falcons!
Voting begins on Sunday morning and ends at midnight on Wednesday. ESPN will announce this week's Pontiac Game Changing Performance winner on Thursday night, during the Pontiac G6 Halftime Report.
The winning university earns a $5,000 contribution from Pontiac to their general scholarship fund. Additionally, the winning play will be nominated for the Pontiac Game Changing Performance of the Year award and the chance to win a $100,000 general scholarship contribution from Pontiac.
In addition, each week one lucky individual who visits pontiac.com/ncaa, will also win a $5,000 scholarship for them self or someone in their family.
"Awarding $1.5 million since its inception, the Pontiac Game Changing Performance program continues to be a great example of how passionate fans can have a positive impact academically and athletically by generating scholarship dollars for university-wide programs," said Rece Davis, ESPN.
