Senior Trio Named to Temple Invitational All-Tournament Team

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Falcon volleyball senior trio, Kendra Halm, Chelsey Meek and Meghan Mohr were named to the Temple Invitational All-Tournament team (Sept. 8) after leading BG to their first tournament title of the season. Halm was also named the MVP of the tournament.
Halm terminated a team high 57 kills hitting a .362 and averaging 3.00 kills per game for the weekend. On defense at the net Halm also led the Falcons with 18 blocks averaging 0.95 blocks per game. Halm posted double-digit kill performances in all four matches of the weekend, her best performance came as the Falcons defeated the Black Knights 3-2, to win the tournament with an amazing 15 kills and no errors for a .484 hitting percentage and six blocks.
Meek totaled a team best 84 digs and three service aces on the weekend. She posted four double-digit dig performances, including two 20-plus dig performances. Meeks best match also came against Fairfield as she recorded 27 digs.
Mohr posted the second most kills, digs, assists and service aces for the Falcons with 54 kills hitting a .244, averaging 2.84 kills per game, 35 digs, 12 assists and four service aces. Her best performance also came against Army as she recorded her first double-double of the season with 13 kills and 11 digs.
The senior trio will lead the Falcons as they take on the Oakland Grizzles Tuesday (Sept. 10) in a mid-week match and then head to the Marquette Challenge this weekend (Sept. 12-13) as the Orange and Brown wrap-up their 11 match opening road trip.

The Falcons are undefeated (11-0), on an 11 match winning streak against the Grizzles ... Oakland is currently 3-3 on the season after posting a 1-2 record at the Red Bird Classic ... the Grizzles defeated Western Carolina, 3-1 (20-25, 25-11, 25-21, 25-14) and fell to Western Michigan, 3-0 (19-25, 23-25, 22-25) and Illinois State, 3-0 (8-25, 16-25, 20-25) ... the last meeting between the two teams BG's 2007 home opener where the Falcons swept the Grizzles, 3-0 (30-20, 30-20, 30-21) extending their home opening winning streak to eight years.
