Alexa Arsenault Named MAC Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio (BGSUFalcons.com) - Bowling Green State University redshirt sophomore Alexa Arsenault has been named the Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday morning (Sept. 8). Arsenault earns the honor for the first time in her Falcon career.
Arsenault, a native of Richmond Hill, Ontario (St. Theresa of Lisieux), had a 1-0-1 record and a goals-against average of just 0.48 on the weekend. She made a total of 10 saves in the Falcons' two road matches.
On Friday night (Sept. 5), Arsenault played the first 76:55 of the Falcons' 4-0 win at IPFW, making a total of four stops. Then, two days later (Sept. 7), she played the entire 110 minutes of BGSU's 1-1, double-overtime game at Ohio State. Arsenault made six saves against the Buckeyes.
On the season, Arsenault has started all five matches. She has a total of 33 saves and a GAA of 1.37 in 2008 to date.
The Falcons, 1-2-2 overall, have played four of the season's first five games on the road. BGSU now returns home for the next three contests, beginning Friday (Sept. 12) vs. Tennessee Tech. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Cochrane Field.
