Swimming Falcons Start the Season Off Strong

Falcons swim to four first place finishes at Tom Stubbs Relays
Bowling Green, OHIO--The Bowling Green State University women's swim team has officially kicked off the 2009-2010 season tonight, hosting the Akron Zips, the Youngstown Penguins and the Oakland Grizzlies at Cooper Pool for the Tom Stubbs Relays.
The Orange and Brown had a strong showing in tonight's relay events. The Falcons took four first place finishes, four second places and three third place finishes. There were eleven relay races in total.
BGSU set the pace to take first place in the 200-yard medley relay (1:46.16), the 300-yard butterfly relay (2:56.78), the 300-yard breaststroke relay (3:19.41) and the 500-yard freestyle relay (4:10.05).
The Falcons swam to second place finishes in the 800-yard freestyle relay, the 400-yard medley relay, the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay with third place finishes in the 300-yard backstroke relay, 1500-yard freestyle realy and the 400-yard medley relay.
The Falcons dive into conference competition on Halloween weekend, traveling to Eastern Michigan on Friday, Oct. 30 and Ball State on Saturday, Oct. 31. The meets will begin at 5:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively.
