BGSU Finishes Eleventh at MAC Championships

KENT, Ohio - Bowling Green State University finishes the Mid-American Conference Championships 11th overall. The Falcons had 10 athletes set new personal records and two set season best records of the 19 that competed.
"We competed to our expectations," said head coach Cami Wells.
In the second day of competition junior Sabrina Forstein led the way for the Falcons. Forstein would place sixth and set a new personal record in the pole vault with a height of 3.70 meters.
Senior Kara Butler would be another scorer for BGSU by placing eight in the 3,000 meter run. Butler would run a new personal record time of 10:10.02.
Another Falcon, senior Kylie Korsnack, would run a personal best time in the 3,000 meter timing in at 10:27.79.
Sophomore Autumn Dettmann would set a new personal record, 5:04.07, in the one mile run. Freshman Ashley Fischer would also run a season best time of 5:14.28.
Sophomore Brittani McNeal would compete in the triple jump for the first time and set a new personal record with a distance of 11.13 meters.
Two other Falcons would also set new season bests. Senior Whitney Hartman would throw 13.56 meters in the shot put placing 14th and in the 400 meter dash junior Danielle Thornton would earn a time of 1:00.80.
At the end of the MAC Championships the top three schools include University of Akron with 126 points, Kent State University scoring 101 points and the University of Miami with 73 points.
"We'll have to work hard and get ready for outdoor competition," said Wells.
Although this concludes the indoor season for BGSU, they will be competing in their first outdoor competition on March 6-7 at the Alex Wilson Invitational.
