Falcons Look to Advance MAC Record This Weekend

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Orange and Brown will look to better their MAC record this weekend in their final two home meets before hosting the MAC Swimming and Diving Championships at Cooper Pool (Feb. 25-28). The Falcons (1-4 MAC, 1-5 overall) will square off against the Buffalo Bulls (3-2 MAC, 7-2 overall) and the Youngstown State Penguins in dual meet, Fri. Feb. 6 at 5:00 p.m. The following afternoon the Falcons will be diving right back into the pool, taking on the Akron Zips (1-4 MAC, 5-5 overall) in final home meet at 1:00 p.m.
Scouting the Bulls:
The Buffalo Bulls are entering Friday's meet in third place in the Mid-American Conference, behind only Miami (Ohio) (5-0 MAC, 9-1 overall) and Eastern Michigan (4-1 MAC, 6-3 overall). The Bulls are coming off of four consecutive wins against Binghamton, Niagara, Akron and St. Bonaventure. Throughout the season the Bulls have had success against Duquesne, Ohio and Ball State and losses to Miami (Ohio) and Eastern Michigan. At the Akron Invitational, the Bulls took fourth out of 13 teams.
Scouting the Zips:
The Akron Zips are currently in sixth in the Conference, matching the Falcons Conference record of 1-4. The zips are coming off of two losses over the past two weeks, falling to Toledo and Buffalo. Other Akron losses have come against Miami (Ohio), Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Oakland. The Zips have defeated the Ohio, Youngstown State, Marshall and St. Francis (Penn.). In their own Zippy Invitational, the Zips placed third out of 13 teams.
The Falcons will also be hosting seven Conference schools in the MAC Swimming and Diving Championships at Cooper Pool later this month. More details on the Championships to follow.
