BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Head coach Kerrie Beach and the Bowling Green State University gymnastics team returns home to their new nest in Anderson Arena for a three meet home stand. The Falcons with kick off their home stand as they host Mid-American Conference rival and pre-season favorite Kent State on Saturday, Feb. 7th at 4:00 p.m.

THIS WEEK'S MATCH-UP ON THE MAT
Falcons vs. Golden Flashes • (2/7 • 4:00 p.m.)
As the Falcons return home for a three meet home stand they host MAC foe Kent State ... the Golden Flashes are currently 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the MAC, after falling to Denver but defeating Alaska-Anchorage and Winona State ... the Golden Flashes' only conference competition thus far was against Ball State (Jan. 23) where they defeated the Cardinals (194.575-190.700) ... the Falcons also defeated Ball State earlier this season ... the Golden Flashes lead the Falcons 11-38-1 in the all-time series ... last season the Falcons fell to the Golden Flashes, 194.825-188.475 in Kent, Ohio ... the Falcons' last victory over Kent was in 2002 with their last win at home against the Golden Flashes coming in 2001, which was their second straight win at home against Kent (2001 & 1999).
RETURN OF THE FALCONS
After back-to-back road meets head coach Kerrie Beach and the Falcons return home to their new nest in Anderson Arena for a three meet home stand. The Falcons will open their home stand against Mid-American Conference foe Kent State on Saturday (Feb. 7). The Orange and Brown will then host Western Michigan (Feb. 13) and non-conference state rival, Ohio State (Feb. 22).
KINZER CONTINUES TO SHINE
Freshman Andrea Kinzer continued to shine on the floor exercise for the Falcons as she led BG's line-up and won her second collegiate event, tying for first place on floor exercise landing a 9.750. She matched her career high on floor, set earlier this in her first collegiate event win at home against Ball State. This is Kinzer's second career event win and second event win on floor. In only four collegiate meets, Kinzer has recorded five top-three finishes between the floor and vault and at least one top-three finish in every meet.
FILLMORE SWINGS TO NEW HEIGHTS
Kasey Fillmore stepped up with three strong performances for the Falcons leading the Orange and Brown on bars with a career high 9.775 tying for a second place finish. Fillmore also posted a 9.675 for a fifth place finish on floor and a 9.550 and seventh place finish on beam.
FALCONS AGAINST THE MAC
The Falcons own four of the six all-time series against their MAC opponents. The Falcons lead Ball State (21-12), Eastern Michigan (18-18), Northern Illinois (9-5) and Western Michigan (23-7-1). The only MAC teams to lead the Orange and Brown in their all-time series are Central Michigan (13-21) and Kent State (11-38-1).
FALCONS FALL SHORT TO EAGLES
The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team fell short to the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 192.925-190.050 (Feb. 1) as injuries hampered the Falcons. Despite coming into the meet with a two gymnasts limited to events due to injuries and another injury occurring during the meet the Falcons posted two top-three finishes, including freshman Andrea Kinzer's second career event win on floor exercise tying her career high 9.750 and a second place finish from Kasey Fillmore with a career high 9.775 on the uneven bars.
FALCONS BUILD A NEW NEST FOR 2009
The Falcon gymnasts have built a new nest in Anderson Arena for all home competitions starting in 2009. This season will be the first time that all home gymnastics meets will be held in Anderson Arena. The Falcons kicked off their home schedule with a 189.575-187.325 win over Ball State (Jan. 18). The Falcons will return home to host their next opponent, MAC foe Kent State on Feb. 7 at 4:00 p.m. (Admission Prices for all home meets are $5 for Adults and $3 for Youth/Seniors/Military.)
