FARMINGTON HILLS, MICH. - Junior captain Kyle Page is Bowling Green's nominee for the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league office announced today. One player from each school is selected and from that pool of 12 student-athletes the winner is selected.
Page, a defenseman, has a 3.57 grade-point-average majoring in sport management. He played in all 38 games for the Falcons this season scoring four goals and adding 10 assists. He has played in 110 games during his career.
The faculty athletic representatives at each school, in consultation with the head coach, select the institution's Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Nominees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 through the fall term to be eligible for the CCHA Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. The winner is selected in a vote of the 12 faculty representatives.
The winner will be announced Thursday, March 19 at the 2009 CCHA Awards which will be held at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. The event is open to the public with tickets, which can be purchased at the door, priced at $15.
