OXFORD, Ohio (AP) - Rachael Hencke scored 13 points to help Miami of Ohio beat No. 25 Bowling Green 45-40, ending the Falcons' 25-game winning streak Wednesday night.
Tracy Pontius had 11 points for Bowling Green (25-3, 14-1 Mid-American), which earned its first ranking in two years Monday and hadn't lost since falling to Valparaiso in November. The Falcons winning streak was the second-longest in the country behind top-ranked UConn.
Trailing 34-32 with just under 4 minutes left, Miami (14-14, 6-9) went on a 10-0 run to take a 42-34 advantage. Stephanie Ford had a layup and two free throws during the spurt. Jenna Schone's jumper with 50 seconds left capped the burst.
Bowling Green closed to 43-40 with 8 seconds left, but Ashley Hawkins hit a pair of free throws to seal the win. The Falcons were just 12-for-60 (20 percent) from the field, including making just three of 25 3-pointers.
