BGSU Finishes at the All-Ohio Championships Seventh Overall

OXFORD, Ohio - The Falcons finished up there two day event at the University of Miami to rank seventh overall. Bowling Green State University would record eight scorers on the second day of competition.
"The great competition and great weather led to some very impressive marks in all the events," said head coach Cami Wells. "We competed well and had a number of personal bests this weekend and now need to build on that to get ourselves in a position to fight for points at the MAC meet in May."
Sophomore Brittani McNeal would be the only multiple event scorer for the Falcons running the third leg of the 4x400 meter relay team and in the long jump. The 4x400 meter relay team would place fifth, timing in at 3:58.37 and McNeal' long jump would reach a personal best distance of 5.75 meters placing her fourth.
Other members of the 4x400 meter relay team, in running order, include junior Danielle Thornton, freshman Saisha Gailliard and sophomore Heather Conger.
Current BGSU 3,000 meter Steeplechase record holder Jamie Roflow, ran her event for only the second time in two years. After battling injuries Roflow has returned placing fifth with a time of 11:03.94.
In the field events junior Sabrina Forstein would be in a three way tie for eighth in the pole vault with a height of 3.40 meters, senior Whitney Hartman would place seventh in the discus reaching 46.00 meter and senior TaKarra Dunning would place second in the shot put throwing 15.05 meters.
Hartman would be the only other multiple scorer throughout the entire meet for the Falcons scoring points both the hammer and discus throw.
"I was pleased with the effort of the team," said Wells. "We are continueing to move in the right direction."
