Newest Falcons Recognized By Baseball America

The Falcons have been recognized as having one of the best freshman classes leading into the 2011 season.
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Highlighted by 14 student-athletes from four different states, the recruiting class that will make up a large portion of the 2011 BGSU baseball team has been recognized by Baseball America. With an eclectic mix of pitching, position players, power hitting and speed, Bowling Green's freshman class has been named one of the best in the northern region and tops in the Mid-American Conference.

The Falcon freshmen have been mentioned in the same breath as Big Ten title contenders and upcoming opponents Michigan and Ohio State universities. Bowling Green was also named by Baseball America as having the best class in the MAC, even above conference champion Central Michigan.
The Bowling Green freshman class includes two infielders, four outfielders, four pitchers, one catcher and two utility players that will split time at different positions. The members of the class include: Logan Walker (Richmond, Vir.) and Brandon Howard (Cincinnati, Ohio), Mitch Zofka (Cleveland, Ohio), Jake Thomas (Litchfield, Ohio), Andrew Kubuski (Elyria, Ohio), Ethan McKenney (Defiance, Ohio), Kevin Delapaz (Plymouth, Mich.), Levi Fisher (Bryan, Ohio), Ben Singer (Midland, Mich.), Jeremy Shay (Garden City, Mich.), Chris Miller (Batesville, Ind.) and Patrick Lancaster (Woodhaven, Mich.).
Bowling Green will open its season on Feb. 18, 2011 at Western Kentucky University (Bowling Green, Kent.) with a three-game series. Steller Field when the Falcons open up at home on March 16, 2011 when they host the University of Northwest Ohio Racers.
