Haas, Fisher Lead Steller Field Enhancement Project
May 25, 2010 | Baseball
While All-American shortstop Gary Haas and pitcher Jim Fisher competed together on the field, they were also leaders on their BGSU baseball teams. Four decades later, the duo continued to step to the plate by contributing lead gifts, along with former Coach and Athletics Director Dick Young and wife Sandy, for the Steller Field enhancement project.
Haas and Fisher recently threw out the first pitch during BGSU's final weekend of regular season action. The project consisted of the addition of a batter's eye over the centerfield wall and new dugouts with graphic enhancements.
Baseball Coach Danny Schmitz and Athletics Director Greg Christopher were on-hand for the first pitch to recognize both Haas and Fisher.
