Nyman Named Assistant Gymnastics Coach

Bowling Green State University head gymnastics coach Kerrie Beach has announced that Ed Nyman will join her staff as an assistant coach. Nyman's duties will begin immediately.
“I am so pleased to have Ed Nyman join our staff,” said Beach. “Ed brings a wealth of experience and a bright outlook to our program. His extensive coaching background and experience with sports performance and biomechanics will help our team achieve our short term and long term goals.”
Nyman brings a wide range of expertise to BGSU, including coaching, consulting and management experience.
Prior to joining BGSU, Nyman was the Owner of 23 Consulting, a wellness and business metric performance consulting firm since last April.
In Jan. of 2010 he enrolled in the Kinesiology Department at the University of Toledo as a Graduate Assistant. At that same time he was the Director of Fitness and Wellness at the Wildwood Athletic Club and the Director of Sports Care eXcel (a division of ProMedica).
From 2002-09 he was the Co-Owner and Director of Operations at New Heights Athletics, where he coached Level 9-10 and Elite Program gymnasts.
Nyman was an assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh from 2000-02.
Nyman has also spent time at the Athletic Republic (2008-09), Woodward Gymnastics Camp (1999-03) and Ursinus College (1997-00). While at Ursinus, Nyman coached current BGSU head coach Kerrie Beach. Beach was a gymnast at Ursinus College from 1996-99. The two of them served as assistant coaches at Ursinus for one season.
Nyman graduated from Ursinus College in 2000 with a degree in exercise science and sport medicine.
He and his wife,Amy, and their two children, currently reside in Wauseon.
