QUICK HITS
• There are a number of events surrounding Sunday's game ... it is Dollar Day at the Stroh Center, with selected concessions items available for just one U.S. dollar ... additionally, the women's basketball team will be holding their annual Garage Sale, with a veritable plethora of items available, including game-worn jerseys, warm-up tops, shorts, and more ... and, Falcon legend Jackie Motycka Mossing will be recognized at halftime of Sunday's game.
• The Falcons are looking to extend a six-game winning streak ... after starting the season with losses to Dayton and Purdue, BGSU has posted victories over Evansville, Detroit, Western Kentucky, Butler, Youngstown State and Austin Peay ... four of the six wins – vs. UE, WKU, BU and APSU – have come at BG's brand-new Stroh Center.
• Head coach Curt Miller, the winningest coach in program history, has a chance to move up another notch on the Mid-American Conference list on Sunday ... BG's win over Austin Peay on Friday night (Dec. 9) was the 240th overall victory of Miller's career ... he now tied for second place with Mark Ehlen, the former Toledo head coach (currently an assistant at Miami Univ.) ... Ehlen amassed 240 total wins from 1996-2008 ... Kent State's Bob Lindsay has a firm hold on the top spot, with 413 wins during his tenure with the Golden Flashes.
• The Falcons shook off a slow start to post a 72-38 win over Austin Peay on Friday night (Dec. 9) at the Stroh ... BGSU scored just three points in the game's first seven-and-a-half minutes, but the Falcons then raced past the Lady Govs ... after making just one of 13 shots to begin the game, BG went 11-of-17 from the floor over the remainder of the first half ... the Falcons made five-straight field-goal attempts to end the period, taking a 34-18 lead at the break.
• BGSU had runs of 9-0, 8-0 and 11-0 before halftime against APSU, as the Falcons outscored the Lady Govs by a 28-6 count in the final 10:26 of the period ... just for good measure, the Brown and Orange had runs of 8-0 and 14-0 in the second half ... the latter run gave the Falcons a 60-27 lead with 7:21 left.
• Redshirt sophomore Alexis Rogers led the Falcons with 19 points vs. APSU ... Rogers scored 15 of those points before halftime, and added a second-half field goal and two free throws before heading to the bench for good with 12:07 left.
• After scoring a total of 20 points over the first four games of the season (5.0 ppg), Rogers has had 66 points (16.5 ppg) in the last four contests ... in this week's two games so far (Youngstown State and APSU), she has averaged 21.0 ppg and has shot 61.5 percent (16-of-26) from the field.
• Rogers has averaged 14.5 points in the first half alone in this week's two games ... she tied her career high (for an entire game) with 14 points in last weekend's win over Butler at the Stroh Center ... at Youngstown on Tuesday (Dec. 6), Rogers scored 14 of her game-high 23 points in the first half, equalling her previous career best by the intermission ... then, as mentioned, the Duke transfer had 15 points before halftime against APSU.
• The Falcons recorded a season-high total of 16 steals against Austin Peay ... that marked the team's highest total in over two years, since a 16-steal night against Chicago State in the 2009-10 season opener (Nov. 13, 2009) at Anderson Arena ... Friday's effort marked the sixth time in eight games this season that BGSU has posted a double-digit steal total.
• BG has had at least 12 steals in each of those six games ... last year, the Falcons had as many as 12 steals just once in 33 games.
• The Falcons forced Austin Peay into 26 turnovers, a season-high total for a BGSU opponent ... BG has forced the opponent into 17 or more turnovers in each of the first eight games this season ... in fact, the Falcons' foes have had 20 or more turnovers seven times in those eight games ... the opposition has averaged 22.0 turnovers per game to date.
• BGSU had 42 rebounds to APSU's 36 on Friday night ... after being outrebounded in each of the first five games of the season, the Falcons have had the advantage on the boards in each of the last three contests.
• BGSU is now 4-1 in games played at the Stroh Center, with the lone loss a one-point setback to nationally-ranked Purdue ... BG has averaged 70.6 points per game and surrendered just 53.8 points per contest at home, and the Falcons have a +8.8 turnover margin at the Stroh.
• Austin Peay's total of 38 points was a season best for the BGSU defense ... it was the first time in nearly four years that the Falcons held an opponent under 40 points – since a 78-36 win over Tennessee-Martin on Dec. 30, 2007.
• Sunday is redshirt junior Danielle Havel's birthday, and the Falcons hope to give her a present similar to last year's gift ... last Dec. 11, the Brown and Orange posted a 69-42 win against Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn. ... Havel had six points, four rebounds and an assist in that victory.
• Free-throw percentage defense is probably not something that Miller emphasizes a great deal during practices ... however, BG's opponents have struggled from the free-throw line in the last few weeks ... none of BGSU's last four foes have shot better than 58.8% from the stripe ... the opponents are a combined 32-of-62 (51.6%) from the line in those four games ... in the Falcons' last two games, vs. Youngstown State and Austin Peay, the Penguins and Govs have combined to make just eight free throws in 21 tries, a success rate of only 38.1%.
• Junior Allison Papenfuss had season-high totals in nearly every category on Friday night ... Papenfuss had eight points and a game-high eight rebounds, tying her career best in the latter category ... she set new career standards in steals (three) and free throws made, going 4-for-4 from the line vs. the Lady Govs.
• Another junior, Simone Eli, saw her first game action of the 2011-12 season ... Eli, after suffering an injury in the preseason, was sidelined for the first five games ... she was in uniform for the Butler (Nov. 3) and YSU (Nov. 6) contests, but did not see action ... on Friday, Eli played the final four minutes of BG's win over APSU.
• The Youngstown State game marked the Falcons' last bus trip for 37 days ... the team will bus to the airport twice in that time, taking to the air for a game at Creighton (Dec. 18) and a trip to face Wyoming (Dec. 29) and Colorado State (Dec. 31) ... BG's next trip by bus will be to Buffalo for a Jan. 15 game vs. the Bulls.

Following the JU game, the Falcons will break for fall semester exams, before heading to Omaha for next Sunday's (Dec. 18) game vs. Creighton ... BG will return home for one final game before Christmas, hosting Madonna on Dec. 21.
