COMPLETE RESULTS
The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team recorded its third highest score of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons finished fourth at the Master's Classic in Lincoln, Neb.
No. 7 Nebraska won the meet with a score of 196.500, followed by No. 15 Iowa (195.500) and Kentucky (194.650). BGSU finished fourth with a team score of 189.450.
The Falcons began the day on bars where they posted a team score of 47.325, led by sophomore Monica Eaton (9.625), senior Amber Brewer (9.600) and senior Kasey Fillmore (9.575).
In rotation two the Orange and Brown moved over to the balance beam. The squad struggled on the event, recording just a 45.725 team score. Freshman Megan Harrington was tops with a 9.450, the third consecutive meet the freshman has led the Falcons on beam.
The Falcons continued the meet over on the floor exercise where they posted a season-best 48.500. Dawn Christman scored a 9.825, followed by Megan Valentini (9.775), Eaton (9.675), Harrington (9.675) and Fillmore (9.550).
While the Falcons' 47.900 is just the second-highest vault mark of the season, it arguably has to be the most impressive score of the year. Due to injuries the Falcons competed with just five gymnasts on vault in Sunday's meet, with all five Falcons scoring at least a 9.425. Christman scored a 9.750, followed by Sunny Marchand (9.650), Brewer (9.575, Fillmore (9.500) and Valentini (9.425).
Fillmore finished sixth in the all-around with a score of 37.875.
Up next for BGSU is a four team meet on Mar. 4, hosted by Kentucky. Also joining the meet will be George Washington and Bridgeport.
