Prochaska, Pitzulo Named Papa John's Athletes Of The Week

Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Papa John's Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Matt Pitzulo and women's basketball player Lauren Prochaska.
Male Athlete of the Week
Matt Pitzulo, a sophomore from Poland, Ohio, made a splash in last week's games played at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. In six games, Pitzulo hit .462 from the plate (12-for-26) and led the team in hits, extra-base hits (3) and RBI (8) over that time. He slugged at a .654 clip, scored four runs and hit his first home run of the season in the final six games of their spring break trip. Over that span, he helped the team to a 3-3 mark with consecutive wins over Lehigh, Mount Saint Mary's and North Dakota State.
Female Athlete of the Week
Lauren Prochaska, a senior from Plain City, Ohio, was named the MAC Tournament MVP for the second consecutive year as Bowling Green won the title and earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. She averaged 15.3 points per game in three games in Cleveland, to go with 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.7 blocked shots. She had a game-high 20 points in the Falcons' 51-46 win over Eastern Michigan in the championship game.
