BGSU Concludes Regular Season Non-Conference Slate
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first inning, the Falcons put the first tally on the board in the bottom of the second. Andrew DiLodovico started the inning with a double down the left field line, staying fair by a matter of inches. TJ Takats immediately followed in the next at-bat with a hard hit liner into center, scoring DiLodovico for a 1-0 lead.
- Zack Horky drew a walk in the next at-bat with a double steal moving both runners up. A wild pitch was enough for Takats to score followed by a sacrifice fly off the bat of Chase Chopin to score Horky for a 3-0 BGSU lead.
- Toledo answered with five unearned runs in the top of the third for a 5-3 lead.
- The Falcons kept the back-and-forth going in the bottom of the third. With two outs, Takats crushed a double into the left field corner, setting up an RBI single through the left side by Horky to pull BGSU back within one, 5-4, after three frames.
- The Rockets pushed across an insurance run in the top of the fifth for a 6-4 score.
- Andrew DiLodovico provided the Bowling Green response in the bottom half with a solo home run that hit off the scoreboard in the left, carrying a projected 371 feet for a 6-5 score.
