KIDS ADMITTED FREE
All kids ages 12 and under will be admitted free to Wednesday night's game ... kids must go to the ticket window to receive a free ticket, and all free tickets will be for sections 108, 109 and 110 ... this offer will be extended for all midweek men's and women's basketball games throughout the entire season, with the exception of the Dec. 18 men's game vs. Michigan State.
QUICK HITS
• Wednesday's game will mark the second time in a five-day span that the Falcons will meet a member of Philadelphia's Big 5 schools ... BGSU faced Villanova on Saturday (Nov. 24) in Las Vegas, as part of the Lady Rebel Round-Up.
• The Falcons return home after splitting a pair of games in Vegas, with a 53-42 loss to 'Nova, but a 64-54 win over host UNLV on Sunday (Nov. 25) ... sophomore Jasmine Matthews was named to the Lady Rebel Round-Up All-Tournament Team.
• Matthews scored a career-high 16 points in the win over the Lady Rebels, and she tied her career best by making four three-point field goals, all in the first half ... senior Danielle Havel also set a career scoring high, with 14 points on Sunday afternoon.
• As a team, the Falcons hit 12 three-pointers in the UNLV game, the highest total of the young season ... BGSU made at least 10 treys on four occasions last season, including a school record-tying 16 in a win at Kent State on the last day of the 2011-12 regular season (Feb. 28, 2012).
• Matthews averaged 12.0 points in the two games in Vegas, while junior Jillian Halfhill also scored 12.0 ppg and Havel 11.5 ... five players averaged between 5.0 and 7.0 rebounds per game at the Lady Rebel Round-Up.
• The Falcons shot just 24.1 percent from the field in the Villanova game, the team's lowest shooting percentage in nearly two years ... the Brown and Orange went 7-for-29 in each half vs. the Wildcats ... the team's FG pct. was the lowest since the Falcons also shot 24.1% against Eastern Michigan on March 12, 2011 ... that came less than a month after a 23.6% effort at Akron (Feb. 22, 2011) ... believe it or not, BGSU won each of those 2010-11 games, with a 47-45 win at Akron on a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Lauren Prochaska, and a 51-46 victory over EMU in the championship game of the MAC Tournament.
• The Falcons have outrebounded the opponents in four of the season's first five games ... only Purdue pulled down more boards than the Brown and Orange, as the nationally-ranked Boilermakers had a narrow 37-33 advantage in the teams' meeting on Nov. 19 ... BG has a rebounding margin of +6.4 this season to date.
• Through the first five games of the year, five different players have led the team in scoring ... Havel, Halfhill, Matthews and seniors Allison Papenfuss and Chrissy Steffen each have paced the Falcons in the scoring column once this year so far.

• LIVE STATS: Links are also available at BGSUFalcons.com for live stats for all home games, as well as all road games in which the host team provides live stats.
ROOS = SUCCESS
• BGSU began the regular-season schedule with a 68-57 win over Madonna on Nov. 10 at the Stroh Center ... four BGSU starters scored in double digits in the win, which was the first official victory of the Jennifer Roos Era ... Roos was hired as the Falcons' head coach on April 16, 2012.
• Roos, of course, has been on the BGSU staff for over a decade, having been Curt Miller's first hire when he took the job in 2001 ... Roos spent three seasons as an assistant coach, and served as Miller's associate head coach for the last eight years ... BGSU captured Mid-American Conference divisional titles in each of those eight years, winning the MAC regular-season title outright in seven of those seasons.
• BGSU has gone 261-94 overall and 135-41 in MAC play since Roos arrived at BG ... those numbers represent a success rate of nearly 74 percent overall and a winning percentage of almost 77% in conference action.
• Over the last nine-plus years, the numbers are even more staggering ... the Falcons are 240-59 (80.2%) overall, 124-20 (86.1%) in MAC regular-season play and 145-24 (85.7%) in all games vs. league foes during that time ... BGSU has won more than 20 games in each of the last nine seasons, a MAC record.
• Although the Madonna game marked the 'official' head-coaching debut for Roos, as well as her first 'official' win, it was not her first regular-season contest in charge of the Falcons ... when Miller suffered a mild stroke in January of 2012, Roos assumed interim head-coaching duties and led BGSU to a 2-0 record, with wins on the road against Central Michigan and at home vs. Northern Illinois prior to Miller's return to the bench in early February.
ABOUT THE FALCONS
• The Falcons enter the Temple game with a record of 3-2 on the young season ... BGSU opened the 2012-13 campaign with a 68-57 win over Madonna at the Stroh Center (Nov. 10), then hit the road and posted a 79-74 victory at Niagara (Nov. 15) ... BG then suffered back-to-back losses at Purdue (45-59; Nov. 19) and against Villanova, with the latter setback coming by a 53-42 score on Saturday (Nov. 24) in Las Vegas ... but, the Brown and Orange bounced back with a 64-54 win over host UNLV on Sunday (Nov. 25).
• Senior Chrissy Steffen paces the Falcons in scoring, with 12.2 points per game to date ... she has 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, and leads the Brown and Orange with nine three-point field goals this season.
• Fifth-year senior Danielle Havel joins Steffen in double digits in scoring ... Havel is averaging 10.0 ppg, and she leads the team in rebounding, with 6.8 boards per contest ... Havel also tops the Falcons in blocked shots (0.8 bpg) and is tied for the team lead in steals (1.2 spg) ... Havel, like Steffen, has 1.8 assists per game, and the two Carmel, Ind., natives are tied for second on the team in that category.
• Junior Jillian Halfhill has 9.8 ppg, 3.4 rpg and a team-high 2.2 apg ... she is tied with Havel for the BG lead in steals (1.2 spg) ... redshirt junior Alexis Rogers and sophomore Jasmine Matthews each have 6.0 ppg ... Rogers has 6.5 rpg to rank second on the team, while Matthews is second on the Falcons with 1.5 three-pointers made per game.
• Senior Allison Papenfuss has 5.0 ppg and 4.4 rpg, while freshmen Miriam Justinger and Bailey Cairnduff have 4.2 and 3.4 ppg, respectively ... Justinger is a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line, while Cairnduff has made four three-pointers to tie for fourth on the Falcons.
• Juniors Jill Stein and Katrina Salinas have scored 2.6 and 2.2 ppg to date ... Stein averages 5.0 rebounds per contest, while Salinas has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.0 ... sophomore Deborah Hoekstra played in both of the games in Vegas, and has 1.5 ppg.
• Halfhill, Havel and Steffen each have started all five games to date, while Cairnduff and Rogers have made four starts apiece.
• Head coach Jennifer Roos welcomed back nine letterwinners, including four starters, from a year ago ... the Brown and Orange went 24-7 overall and 14-2 in the MAC in 2011-12 ... two of those starters, Steffen and Rogers, were selected to the Preseason All-MAC Team in 2012-13 ... Steffen led the Falcons in scoring last season, with 13.2 points per game, and also averaged 5.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.8 steals.
• Rogers averaged 12.3 points and a team-leading 8.7 rebounds per game, and was named to the All-MAC First Team in her first playing season with the Falcons (Steffen earned All-MAC Second-Team honors last year) ... Rogers also was a WBCA Coaches' All-America Team honorable-mention selection in '11-12.
• Rogers was a 2012-13 Preseason All-MAC First-Team selection by the College Sports Madness web site, while Steffen was a preseason all-league second-team choice.
• In addition to Rogers and Steffen, Havel returns after starting all 31 games a year ago ... Havel averaged 6.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.6 steals and a team-high 0.7 blocked shots ... Matthews is back after making 21 starts as a freshman ... Matthews, who averaged 7.0 points per game as a freshman, hit 51 three-point field goals, the second-highest total on the team last winter.
• Halfhill returns after playing in all 31 games last year, starting the first 10 ... she averaged 4.3 ppg a year ago ... the other returnees include seniors Hoekstra, Papenfuss, Stein and senior Simone Eli.
• Four newcomers joined the program this season ... one of those four, Erica Donovan, will sit out the season after transferring from North Carolina State Univ. ... she played in all 35 games for the Wolfpack a year ago, averaging 4.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game ... Donovan, who graduated from John Jay H.S. in Northside, Texas, attended Notre Dame Academy in Toledo as a freshman.
• Salinas also joined BGSU as a transfer, as she came to Northwest Ohio after two years at Central Arizona College ... Salinas averaged 10.3 points and 4.1 assists last year, and helped the Vaqueras to a 20-0 league record and a 10th consecutive appearance in the NJCAA national tournament.
• Freshmen Cairnduff (Morley, Mich.) and Justinger (Sylvania, Ohio) joined the Falcons this season after each earned first-team all-state honors last year ... Cairnduff finished her career at Morley Stanwood H.S. as the school's all-time leading scorer, helping the Mohawks to state titles in both volleyball and basketball last year ... Justinger helped Northview H.S. to a 21-2 record last season, averaging 19.6 points per game to lead the Northern Lakes League in scoring.
• The Falcons are shooting just .347 from the field, and BG is .324 from three-point range and .699 from the free-throw line through the first five games ... the opponents have shot .395 from the floor, .297 from beyond the arc and .765 from the stripe ... the Falcons have a rebounding margin of +6.4.
THEY'RE FREE, YOU KNOW
If the first five games are any indication, the 2012-13 Falcons are continuing an impressive program trend of getting to the line waaaaay more often than the other team ... BGSU has made a total of 72 free throws this season to date ... that total is four more than the opponents have even attempted ... BG has made more tosses than the foes have attempted in three of the last four years ... and, the Falcons' total of free throws made has been at least 100 higher than the opponents' FTM total in each of the last seven seasons ... the 2002-03 season was the last time the opposition made, or attempted, more free throws than BG.
THE CAPTAINS
Fifth-year senior Danielle Havel, senior Chrissy Steffen and junior Jill Stein are the tri-captains of the 2012-13 Falcons ... Havel and Steffen each are captains for the second consecutive year ... the three were selected in a vote of team members as well as the coaching staff.
A QUICK LOOK AT TEMPLE
Temple, like BGSU, is 3-2 on the season ... the Owls are 3-1 at home and 0-1 on the road to date, with wins over Montana, Seton Hall and Northeastern, and losses at Nebraska and against Rutgers ... the team has been idle since Wednesday's (Nov. 21) RU game, a 66-50 loss ... senior center Victoria Macaulay leads the team in a multitude of categories, including scoring and rebounding ... Macaulay is averaging a double-double, with 15.2 points and 10.0 boards per game, and she also paces the Owls with 2.0 blocked shots per outing ... Macaulay is shooting .549 from the field ... sophomore guards Rateska Brown and Tyonna Williams are averaging 9.0 and 7.0 ppg, respectively, and Williams has a team-leading 3.6 assists ... Macauley, Williams, freshman guard May Dayan, freshman forward Sally Kabengano and senior forward Natasha Thames each have started all five games for fifth-year head coach Tonya Cardoza ... last year, the Owls went 23-10 overall and 13-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play ... TU advanced to the third round of the WNIT, and the Owls won at least 20 games and qualified for the postseason for the ninth-straight season.
THE SERIES
BGSU and Temple are tied, 1-1, in the all-time series between the schools ... each team has won a home game against the other ... the most recent meeting saw the Owls pick up a 70-55 victory at the Liacouras Center just over four years ago (Nov. 14, 2008) ... that was Tonya Cardoza's first game as head coach at Temple ... the only previous meeting in Northwest Ohio saw the Falcons shoot .612 from the field en route to an 86-67 win (Nov. 24, 2006) at venerable Anderson Arena ... Kate Achter and Ali Mann scored 23 points apiece in that game, with Achter shooting a perfect 8-for-8 from the field.
YOU ARE NOW FREE TO MOVE ABOUT THE COUNTRY
The Falcons spent a good portion of the last two weeks riding planes, trains and automobiles (well, planes and busses, at least) ... beginning with the bus trip to Niagara, the Falcons logged over 5,000 miles of travel (5,080, to be exact) in a 12-day span ... in addition to the NU trip, the Falcons headed to Purdue for a Nov. 19 game, and BGSU went to Las Vegas, Nev., on Thanksgiving Day for a pair of contests in the Lady Rebel Round-Up ... that mileage total doesn't include trips to and from the hotel(s) to the arena(s), bus trips to and from the airport in Vegas, or numerous coffee runs for the seniors as well as the elder members of the travel party.
STROH'ME-COURT ADVANTAGE
• The Falcons have enjoyed a long-standing tradition of success at home ... most of that success came at venerable Anderson Arena, where the Brown and Orange enjoyed an outstanding home-court advantage over the years ... but, BGSU appears to be beginning a new tradition of success at the Stroh Center.
• The win over Madonna improves BG's record to 15-2 in the new building since it opened prior to last season ... after losing by just one point to nationally-ranked Purdue in last year's home opener, the Falcons reeled off 14-straight wins at the Stroh, before losing another one-point game to VCU in the WNIT.
• The 15-2 mark at the Stroh comes after the Falcons went 333-116 (74.2%) in Anderson Arena during the team's tenure there ... the record was even better during MAC play, as the Falcons had a league mark of 192-54 (78.0%) at "The House That Roars" through the years.
