BGSU Softball Heads To Kentucky For Hilltopper Classic

Falcons look to build momentum with games against Indiana State, Western Kentucky, Morehead State and Murray State

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- The Bowling Green State University softball team will head to Bowling Green, Kentucky this weekend, as the Falcons will take on Indiana State, Western Kentucky, Morehead State and Murray State as part of the Hilltopper Spring Classic.

Falcon Quick Hits
- Bowling Green went 2-1 last weekend, earning their first opening day victory since 2009
- The Falcons defeated Wright State 13-1, marking their first 13 run output since defeating Detroit 14-0 (April. 20, 2011) last season.
- Junior Paige Berger's home run against Wright State marked her twenty-fourth bomb, good enough for third on the Bowling Green all-time list.
- Junior Hannah Fulk and sophomore Katie Yoho also homered for the Falcons, giving them three this season. Bowling Green hit 26 home runs last season.
- The Falcons' 6-0 win over Alabama State marked the Falcons first shutout of the young season, and their first since last year, when they blanked Detroit 14-0 (April. 20).
- Paige Berger and Hannah Fulk extended their three-game hit streaks in Saturday's win over Alabama State, as both have secured at least one hit in every game so far this season.
- Freshman pitcher Paris Imholz collected both of Bowling Green's wins over the weekend. Imholz allowed just two earned runs in 14 innings, and collected six strikeouts. Imholz dominated in her second win of the season against Alabama State, throwing a one-hit shut out against the Hornets.

Western Kentucky also played in the Hillenbrand Invitational last week, defeating North Dakota and UAB twice before falling to Southern Utah and no. 16 Arizona.
