Falcons Lead Ohio 3.5-2.5 After Day One of Spring Challenge Cup

The Bowling Green State University women's golf team will take a 3.5-2.5 lead over Ohio University following the conclusion of six matches. The two teams will play six individual match-play matches on Wednesday, with each match worth a single point. The first team to 6.5 points wins the event.
In the morning round the Falcons captured 2.5 of the three available points, dominating in two of the matches in the alternate shot format. The duos of Hannah Lewis and Shelby Wilson along with Amy Ruthenberg and Patricia Holt each won their match 4&3, while Hannah Lewis and Shelby Wilson finished all square in their match after 18 holes of play.
The afternoon matches were “best ball” with the Orange and Brown winning just one of the three matches. Ruthenberg and Bartell finished the afternoon 1 Up, but BGSU dropped the other two matches.
Wednesday's actio will begin in the morning. Following play both teams will compete in the Rio Verde, beginning March 8.
