August 10, 2013 | Volleyball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The defending Mid-American Conference champion Bowling Green State University volleyball team began the 2013 season on Saturday morning, practicing inside the Stroh Center. The Falcons, of head coach Danijela Tomic, welcome back nine returners from last year's team. The Orange and Brown also have eight freshmen and one graduate student on the team, as Allison Papenfuss joins the volleyball team after four seasons on the women's basketball team.
Saturday morning's practice was focused on fundamentals, as the Falcons worked on ball control, serves, and serve-receives for a majority of the session.
The 2013 season begins on Aug. 24, when the Falcons partake in the annual Orange and White game. The regular season starts on Aug. 30, when the Falcons host Marquette at 7:00 p.m. inside the Stroh Center.
