BGRSO To Provide Flagship Coverage Of BGSU Volleyball
August 08, 2013 | Volleyball
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University Athletics and the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization (BGRSO) have reached an agreement for BGRSO to provide flagship coverage of Bowling Green volleyball in 2013, including live radio coverage of all home and away contests.
"Adding BGSU volleyball to our flagship coverage, along with women's basketball and hockey, continues our focus on Bowling Green Athletics," Alan Marrs, executive director of BGRSO, said. "We are proud to have the full support of Coach Danijela Tomic and her staff and we are also proud of the enthusiasm and support Falcon Radio WFAL has shown for our expansion to flagship coverage on their station."
BGRSO began broadcasting BGSU volleyball home games in 2011 when the Falcons were undefeated and hosted ranked Michigan State in the first contest inside the Stroh Center. Since that time, BGRSO has broadcast home volleyball matches. Now, BGSU fans will able to listen to broadcasts of road contests as well.
"We are thrilled that BGRSO will provide flagship coverage for our program," Tomic said. "We want to enhance our fans' experience in every possible way and this will help us accomplish that. Not only will our fans be able to follow us when we play at home, but also on the road."
BGSU Volleyball returns 5-of-6 starters from a team that went 22-11 a year ago, won the Mid-American Conference Tournament and advanced to the second round of NCAA Tournament competition. The Falcons will hold the Orange and White scrimmage Aug. 24 at noon before hosting the Hampton Inn Invitational Aug. 30-31 to open the regular season with Marquette, BYU and Creighton.
Games will be broadcast on WFAL, which is available via Time Warner Cable in Wood County on Channel 21. It is also webstreamed live at bgrso.org and falconradio.org. Also, fans can tune in through iTunes in the "College/University" genre.
