Falcons Look To Continue Sizzling Start

Coming off another record-breaking week, the Falcons will look to defend their 2012 CSU Invitational title, after shooting a 36-hole score of 630 a year ago. The Orange and Brown rallied from six shots back to defeat host Cleveland State (633) by three strokes.
For the tournament, five of the seven Falcons finished in the top-10, while the entire team finished in the top-23, among the 43-player field.
That included senior Bailey Arnold, who finished in third-place (77-76-153), two shots off medalist honors.
In BGSU's first two tournaments of the young 2013-13 season, the team has played some of their best golf in recent history. The Falcons' broke the 54-hole team mark by 21 strokes (903) at the Redbird Invitational, their best score since the 2010 North Texas Fall Classic.Â
The Orange and Brown also set new records last week, playing at the Waynesville Inn – Golf Resort & Spa, the team shot a 36-hole mark of 594, beating the previous-best by six strokes. The Falcons also shot an impressive 288 on the final day, that breaking a new 18-hole score in BGSU history as well.
For the week, BGSU will try to defend their title, as six of the seven teams that competed in the field a year ago will return will all eyes on the Falcons. The seven team field will include; Cleveland State, Bowling Green, Niagara, St. Francis, Robert Morris, Youngstown State with Detroit being the lone team that didn't play in the field last year.
Head coach Stephanie Young will have her lineup closer to Monday.
