Louisville and Xavier will join BGSU and host Miami in this weekend's invite. The Miami Invitational will mark the first action of the season for Louisville, while each of the other three teams opened their respective 2013-14 seasons last weekend. The RedHawks participated in the Ball State Fall Invitational, while the Musketeers played at the Northern Kentucky Invitational.
The Falcons, of course, opened the '13-14 campaign by hosting the BGSU Invitational last Friday and Saturday (Sept. 20-21). Senior Nikki Chiricosta captured the title at the top singles flight, with a perfect 3-0 singles mark on the weekend. She lost a total of just 10 games in those six sets.

As a team, the Falcons had an overall singles record of 14-7 last weekend. In doubles, BGSU teams went 5-4 overall.
Falcon doubles teams last weekend consisted of Chiricosta and sophomore Drew Fillis; Hutchison and senior Emily Reuland; and Brozovich and freshman Hannah Drayton. The Chiricosta/Fillis team competed at the top flight, with each of the other teams taking part in flight 2. Freshman Brittany Plaszewski competed with an IPFW student-athlete, Sofia Sorokina, at the third doubles flight.
Overall, Chiricosta has a team-best 5-1 record through one weekend of play. Fillis, Hutchison and Reuland all went 4-2 at the BGSU Invitational.
Matches in Oxford this weekend are scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. each day, and admission is free.
Following the Miami Invitational, the Falcons will prepare for the ITA Midwest Regional Championships, which will run from Oct. 10-15 in Ann Arbor, Mich. The team's fall slate also includes trips to Cincinnati for the UC Bearcat Invitational (Nov. 1-3) and Kalamazoo, Mich., for the Super Challenge, hosted by Western Michigan University.
