Taylor Heidorn's goal midway through the first half proved to be the winner, as host IUPUI posted a 1-0 victory over the Bowling Green State University women's soccer team Sunday afternoon (Sept. 8). The non-conference match was held at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.

With the win, the host Jaguars improve to 3-2-1 on the season, while dropping the Falcons to 0-3-0.
Heidorn's goal came off of a Jaguar corner kick, which was taken by Anna Rode. The Jags' Grace Perkowitz settled the ball and sent it to Heidorn, who hit a shot from just outside the 18-yard box that found the back of the net with just over 22 minutes gone.
"We continue to get better game after game," said BGSU head coach Lindsay Basalyga. "Every game we've lost has been by one goal, so we are in games, but we aren't consistently making the big plays to either keep us in the game or win us the game.
"I'm confident in our process, and trust that our players will continue to stay positive and focused on the next opportunity we have to compete."
BGSU redshirt freshman Lauren Cadel posted a double-digit save total for the second consecutive match. Cadel made 10 saves on Sunday, including stops on back-to-back breakaway attempts by IUPUI's Tori Minnich late in the contest.
Arguably the Falcons' best chance of the match came off the boot of junior Sidney Huth in the 73rd minute of play. Huth, BGSU's leading scorer last season, hit a shot that sailed just over the crossbar.
Giselle Guzman and Nichole Kulovitz each played 45 minutes in goal for the hosts, and each were credited with one save. The Jaguars had a 21-5 advantage in shots, with 11 shots on goal to BG's two.
The Falcons' three-match road swing continues next weekend, as BGSU travels to East Lansing for a Friday (Sept. 13) contest against Michigan State. That game, the first of two consecutive trips to the state of Michigan, will begin at 5:00 p.m. After a match at Detroit on Tuesday, Sept. 17, the Brown and Orange will return home to face Evansville at Cochrane Field on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 22.
