Reiser, Alt Set Weekend Pace With Season Best Efforts
May 01, 2015 | Women's Track and Field
Columbus, Ohio – Bowling Green State University redshirt junior Andrea Alt and redshirt sophomore Kori Reiser each posted season-best performances as the Falcons had limited activity on the opening day of the Jesse Owens Classic, hosted by Ohio State University.
With just two weeks remaining until the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the Falcons are looking to make finals pushes for seeding and qualification to the meet. Reiser set a strong season best in the discus and Alt did the same in the 5000.
Reiser threw the discus 153-feet-2, almost four feet further than she had at any time earlier this year. It was just three inches shy of a MAC automatic qualifying distance.
Alt improved upon her season-best time in the 5000 by almost 10 seconds, running the event in 17:33.71 to place fifth in the open division at Ohio State.
The Falcons will continue action at the Jesse Owens Classic Saturday starting at 10:30 am.
