FOCUS ON THE FALCONS
Bowling Green and third-year head coach Lindsay Basalyga returns 10 starters and a total of 16 letterwinners from last year's team and added a redshirt-freshman and 10 new Falcons in the 2015 recruiting class. Despite the loss of only four letterwinners from a year ago, BGSU is still stacked with youth as 19 members of the 27 players on the 2015 roster are either sophomores or freshmen. However, of the Falcons' 15 total goals last season, 13 were recorded by a total of eight returners on the roster this season. BGSU also returns starting goalkeeper Lauren Cadel, who led the MAC and was third among all NCAA Division I goalkeepers with a BGSU single-season record 146 saves in 2014.

PREVIEW OF MOREHEAD STATE
The Morehead State Eagles opened their season with two home matches August 21 and 23. In the first game, Illinois-Chicago defeated the Eagles 2-1 in the season opener. UIC scored two quick goals in the first half to go up 2-0. Junior midfielder Tonia Parisi scored the team's only goal of the game in the 34th minute. In Sunday's matchup with Wright State, the Eagles found themselves leading 1-0 at the half and a player up on the Raiders, but managed to give up three second-half goals for a 3-1 loss. Wilson and Parisi lead the team with one goal each and Murphy has recorded seven saves through two games.
FALCONS VERSUS THE EAGLES ON THE PITCH
The Falcons are 0-1-0 all-time versus the Morehead State Eagles, as the two teams met last year at Cochrane Stadium. Morehead State defeated BGSU 2-1 on August 22, 2014.

COACH'S COMMENTS
"We're excited to play especially on the road because we were home and now we have to figure out how to get results on the road. We have focused these past two days on the transitional moments of the game from defending to attacking, so I'm excited to see what that looks like against another team. Morehead traditionally has been a very good program so we're excited about the challenge of being on the road against another opponent." – Lindsay Basalyga, Head Coach

CHICAGO STATE RECAP (8/21/15)
The Falcons defeated Chicago State 4-0 Friday evening. BGSU jumped out early in the contest, scoring on a goal by junior Alexa Cheripko in the sixth minute. Sophomore Skylar Fleak played the ball into the box where her pass found freshman Juli Knapp, who then connected with Cheripko for the score. The Falcons scored again in the 12th minute on a goal by redshirt freshman Erica Hubert. Already up 2-0, Madison Schupbach kept the scoring going with a goal in the 28th minute. The sophomore dribbled across the middle of the field and capitalized on a left-footed shot from the top of the box. Less than 30 seconds later, Hubert found Mikaela Couch running across the box through the defense for a one-on-one opportunity, resulting in Couch's first goal of the season. Despite not notching a goal in the second half, BGSU controlled possession for most of the period, outshooting Chicago State 13-5. Lauren Cadel recorded two saves in 51 minutes of action in her first victory of the season.

IPFW RECAP (8/23/15)
In their second game of the weekend, the Falcons notched three more goals in a 3-0 defeat of IPFW Sunday afternoon. The critical stretch of the game came when IPFW's Erin Gill and Kallianne Mogler blasted consecutive shots off the post in a scoreless match at the 60-minute mark. With new life, Bowling Green broke into the scoring column just six minutes later as Haley Parkinson's long shot bounced over IPFW goalkeeper Kiley Dunning and rolled into the goal. One minute later, Erica Hubert had a long run down the middle of the field and capitalized on her shot from the top of the box to put the Falcons up 2-0. The final goal of the match came from Mikaela Couch in the 84th minute. Alexa Cheripko's pass found Couch in the box and the sophomore scored on an open goal as the keeper had taken herself out of the play. Lauren Cadel earned the shutout and recorded two saves in the win.

FALCONS ALL-TIME VERSUS THE 2015 FOES
BGSU enters the 2015 season having played all but one of its opponents prior to this year. The Falcons are 90-124-28 all-time versus their 19 regular season foes in 2015, including having posted double digit wins over Buffalo and Kent State, as well as wins over Akron, Kent State, Ohio and Chicago State in 2014.
Â
PICKED FIFTH IN THE EAST FOR 2015
The Falcons were pickedto finish fifth in the East Division by the MAC Coaches in the preseason poll. Buffalo is the favorite to win the East Division regular season title, while Ball State and Western Michigan are the tied favorite to win the West Division. In the East following Buffalo, Miami is predicted to finish second with Kent State (3), Ohio (4), Bowling Green (5) and Akron (6).
Â
YEAR THREE OF THE PROCESS
This season will be the third year under head coach Lindsay Basalyga who took over the Falcons program in January 2013. With the task of rebuilding the program which had won a total of only 16 matches in the four years prior to Basalyga's hiring, the Falcons have showed continued improvement towards the process of rebuilding the program over the last two seasons. BGSU has improved its when total over the last two years under Basalyga's leadership and have made huge strides in restoring the program back to when the Falcons made the MAC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament on a consistent basis.
